AN IMPRESSIVE PROPOSAL? (Part 1)

Sometime ago during a Sunday service, my Spiritual Mother was explaining some things about marriage & she eventually stated how my Spiritual Father proposed to her; a statement she has always promised to tell us someday. .......Wow, what an exciting moment it was in church on that day! Honestly, I have not forgot it, and probably will never do (*wink*).

Most ladies, if not all, have a way they wish to be proposed to. I was discussing with some Christian ladies sometime ago and was surprised of their responses on the matter of proposal. Some of them said even if the proposal comes in the conventional way at the onset, they would like to have another proposal before the wedding, i.e; the elaborate one that will happen in a public place. I couldn't help but laugh because I wasn't expecting such response from them. Surprisingly, the one that seemed most 'spiritual' among them firstly stated that she would like a second proposal. ....Hmm, I have never heard of a second proposal before o, lol!

Actually in some parts of the world (e.g Europe), the guy plans for it in a way that the lady will always want to remember the incident throughout her lifetime. The Biblical standard says we are to go from Proposal to Courtship and then Wedding (and not from Dating to Proposal and then Wedding), hence such elaborate proposal might not happen at the beginning of a Christian courtship, but it is not wrong to SPICE UP your proposal by putting your words together in an appealing way!!!

Godliness is not against making such incident a memorable one, therefore, GET CREATIVE AND STOP HIDING UNDER THE GUISE OF HOLINESS! Making a plain and straight-to-the-point proposal won't appeal to some sisters o. As much as she is a SPIRIT living inside a body, please don't forget that she has a SOUL as well. That you received her in the spirit doesn't mean you should propose to her in a religious way. Sincerely, an unappealing proposal may put some ladies off.

A closer look at my Spiritual Father's proposal showed that although he only made few statements, the words ministered to the spirit and soul at the same time; it was a 'TWO-EDGED SWORD' indeed! No wonder she couldn't sleep for the two weeks duration she gave him before giving her response. I observed that he even gave her a 'starter' before the 'main meal'; i.e. he didn't just 'hit the nail on the head' without an expression of his thought/feeling towards her.

To be continued.......
