EVENING AND MORNING? (Part 1)

It is commonly described by man that a combination of morning and evening makes up a whole day. However, as I was reading the first chapter of the book of Genesis, a commonly occurring phrase caught my attention, and it reads thus:
               And the evening and the morning were the first day[1].
               And the evening and the morning were the second day[2]. And so on.

Therefore, this tells me that with God, the arithmetic of creation is;
        EVENING + MORNING = ONE DAY
and not vice-versa. It is evident that this arithmetic is in contrast with other portions of the scriptures where day was mentioned before night[3]. Hence, I understood that when it concerns ‘creation’ of something that God is involved in, evening would always come before morning. How do I mean?

Mostly, before a man blossoms in life and becomes renowned (for example; a man that just starts a business), he would go through a tough period; times that things are not smooth, he is struggling to make ends meet, working so hard to pull through, etc., generally referred to as DAYS OF LITTLE BEGINNING. All these scenarios describe the ‘evening’ of a man. His loved ones would encourage him, ‘There is light at the end of the tunnel, push hard to break even’. As this man works hard consistently, there would come a time that he would break through, and success would begin to roll in continuously. This is why there is a saying that every successful man has a story to tell about their low and tough beginning. Don’t listen to any successful man that does not have a history, he is probably a criminal because success is not spontaneous (Rev. Olusola Areogun).

This is also revealed in the story of Joseph in the bible[4]. Undoubtedly, he was the ‘apple of his father’s eye’, well loved and secure, a 17-year old boy that was thriving under the affection of his father[5]. However, when it was time for God to launch him for the fulfillment of his purpose in life, he allowed his brothers to sell him off and orchestrated his arrival into Egypt[6]. If it wasn’t God that was behind it all, he could as well be sold into another country, or don’t you think so?
