EVENING AND MORNING? (Part 3)

(Continued from part 2)

A renowned Pastor once said that some of the prison experiences of Paul were probably God-orchestrated because some of his books in the bible would not have been written if not for his imprisonment. He was too active and zealous to take the gospel round the world that he might not have had time to write those books which are blessings to the body of Christ today. They’ve really answered a lot of questions as regarding Christianity! Going to prison was not palatable to him but the books he wrote there made his name indelible today in the Christendom and a blessing to generations after him. No matter what, anything God is involved in must always end on a positive note even if the beginning seems unpleasant. Once you know you are on the path of righteousness, then be rest assured that everything will work together for your good[1].  
               
The story of Ruth is another example[2]. Although her beginning in Bethlehem was quite low and pathetic, she did not end up like that. God started her off by adhering her heart to her mother-in-law[3]. She got to Bethlehem and did menial job to make ends meet[4], but by her diligence[5] and obedience to her mother-in-law’s instructions[6], her head was lifted and she had double for all the shame and pains she experienced in the past.  A once poor widow then became a happily married woman, a mother and the co-owner of the farm where she once gleaned and was at the mercy of the reapers[7]. To crown it all, she became one of the ancestresses of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ[8]. You would agree with me that God’s hand was in operation that was why she didn’t glean at another person’s farm but Boaz’s.   

No wonder the bible admonishes us not to despise the day of little beginning[9]. God always wants to start you off on a low platform. That is the period for character development, capacity building, etc. Even God did not start the creation of mankind with many but with just one man; Adam[10], and you can imagine the billions of men on the earth today!

One of the things the love of parents supply to a child is Security. If you would agree with me, children who have enjoyed a good measure of love, acceptance and attention at home tend to express a good self esteem in their relationship with others than those who didn’t have them; probably as a result of marital issues between parents, or parents are travelers and too busy to attend to their children, etc.  This is also true of a woman who enjoys the same from her husband and another who doesn’t.  Love is a strengthener; both psychologically and emotionally, it just establishes your mind to be able to face life with courage. (Continued from part 2) HOWEVER, patience and determination will help you through this stage; removing your attention from these mundane things and focusing it on the future. Delay is not denial, your own man that will place the right value on you is on his way. Don’t forget that you mostly misuse anything you buy cheap. Compare your attitude to a pair of shoes you got for #300 and the one you got for #7,000. You know how you keep the latter away safely immediately you get back from an outing while the former could lie around in the room until you are ready. The same way a man would treat you; depending on the platform at which he meets you. Wait and keep developing yourself to become a wife, a high-calibre career woman and an asset in God’s house.

  (Continued from Part 1) Therefore, if you base God’s acceptance of you by the attitude of a brethren towards you (irrespective of his/her title), you are likely to live unhappily. Moreover, remember that emotions are never stable; Sometimes you are high and other times you are low. Therefore, allowing the way another person feels of you to determine your definition of yourself is too tragic for your healthy living; both spiritually and socially. Don’t forget that you can’t please everybody; you can only live peaceably with everyone, and don’t expect everybody to like you; just live peaceably with everyone. My spiritual father would say, “You don’t need everybody to like you, you  only need the critical people of your life and destiny to like you”. He also says, “People may not like you but live your life in a way that they can’t ignore you”. Embrace excellence in what you do and you will see people of like minds getting attracted to you.
