EVENING AND MORNING? (Part 4)
The evening time is a
time that your greatness is as little as a seed and you work so hard in order
to make a great harvest out of it. My Spiritual Father is well known around the
world today as a teacher of the gospel but there was a time he said God told
him to read the bible through four times every year (he was then a missionary).
He said he obeyed and he could see the result today[1].
Although he has the ministry gift of teaching, his obedience and diligence
helped him to make a full proof of the gift[2].
He expatiated that if he had not obeyed at that time, he would probably not be
operating at the level he is today because currently he is a pastor and a
family man with a lot of people he is responsible for (both biologically and
spiritually) who demand his time (of which I’m one!). He also has other
assignments to the body of Christ, hence presently, he tries to read the bible
through at least once before the year runs out[3].
Therefore, give your best to your beginning and you will see the result soon[4].
The evening time is
also a time when you make decisions that affect the quality of your morning.
Imagine if Joseph had slept with Potiphar’s wife, he would have ended up as a
gigolo instead of a prime minister that the same woman would later bow to. The
same with Ruth if she had stolen some farm produce while gleaning, caught by
the labourers and reported to Boaz. Boaz would likely not have accepted to
marry her. Remember that the labourers were the first to attest of her virtue;
long before Boaz became aware of their family tie[5].
Never embrace the attitude of Esau in your evening; an attitude that only
thinks of today and ready to give up tomorrow[6].
Such always weep when they discover that their attitude in the evening has
assassinated their morning[7].
God always starts you off with your evening.
It is not a frivolous action that the bible states that ‘and evening and
morning’, i.e. mentioning the evening first. He starts you off with the dark
moments and then shines his light into it gradually until you have a full
bright day. In any area of your life that you are in the evening phase, add
diligence to what you are doing and trust God by keeping on the path of righteousness
no matter the intensity of the darkness, and your morning will soon be HERE!!![8]
Shalom.
Great article. Keep it up
